I was shocked to find (although the last week of school) that my husband's school allows the students to watch TV when their is down time. He walked into a classroom and the students were signing yearbooks, talking and watching Disney Kids. The students were in 6th grade.
I do not feel school should be promoting this time of "downtime" activities. There should have been a group activity or discussion going on. Especially since the majority of the students will be leaving...
