Special Promotion Grant

My AP Biology class spent every other Tuesday spending time with the special education class to try and help them learn about biology. Because of the large success we had the school has been given a grant for next year's class to do the same thing!

That's good to hear. It's great that your school was rewarded for such efforts!

I've seen this occur in other schools as well which goes to show that hard work in the classroom pays off in the long run. But what's most important is that the students are benefiting from it.

This seems like one of those situations where it becomes difficult to determine who is being helped more, the special needs students, or the student providing their time to help them. I'm sure it's a very rewarding exercise for the advanced students to help others who need extra attention and support. Also, the interaction is great for all of the students involved and I'm sure the special needs students are grateful to be able to spend time with the advanced students and to see them take an interest in their problems and to have them work together to find ways to better teach and learn the information.

its really good that your school is recognizing the hard work and efforts put in by everyone...not most of the school does this...
